Summer Burn

Last Call! This weekend is your last chance to load up on Chris & Lori's Bakehouse scones and other delights before we wave goodbye til the distant future

(hopefully 2025). Freeze up a stockpile to keep you going.

Summer Burn

Pour yourself a tall glass of water and take a minute. It's been one crazy hot week.

Hard to appreciate your farmers any more than on the days when we crest 100° and it feels even hotter than that. These hard working folk are out there keeping plants & animals watered, pulling in ripe tomatoes and making sure that bounty survives the heat, just as we hope to do the same.

Ten Eyck Orchard can help you take the edge off with their deliciously new sparkling apple cider (pictured), made fresh from their apples grown south of Madison in Brodhead.

As we move to the last weekend in August, there's simply too much coming in to highlight each week and with that in mind we're happy to announce the return of the Produce List in each newsletter. Scroll down below to see what was in at each previous market.

A new highlight last Saturday came in the form of fresh ground cherries (pictured) from Emerald Meadows Family Farm. Skip the hot stove and plate up some sliced summer sausage from Highland Spring Farm, your favorite Landmark Creamery cheese and serve with a bowl of ground cherries and donut peaches from Door County Fruit Market.

If a bowl of ice cream happens to be necessary afterwards, then indulge yourself by drizzling over the caramelly goodness that is Dream Sauce from Dreamfarm. Adding some roasted hickory nuts from Bonde Bee wouldn't hurt either.

The heat looks to break before market returns on Saturday, a small mercy we'll happily accept as we've got a packed lineup coming your way.

The Deliciouser returns this weekend with their out of this world spice blends, perfect accents for all the options of the summer bounty.

Garden Gate Flowers will also return this weekend with some early fall ornamental options, ready to kick us off into the September season a week early.

So with temps back in tolerable zones, we hope you enjoy all the offerings this weekend as we send off August. It won't be long before the days shorten and we'll be trading watermelons for winter squash. Until that time however, we'll soak it in and cool off with one of the refreshing kombucha options (pictured) from Rude Brew Kombucha.

See you at the market!
